Marriage not only links to players together romantically, but also opens up the Chapel location to married couples for events, specifically Marriage Ceremonies,

To get Married:

Each player proposes by purchasing a wedding ring for their sweetie.

Once each proposal is accepted, the two are married.

Married players gain access to the Wedding Chapel to hold events, so once the proposals are accepted, the big day can be planned and held in a special location just for weddings.
