Reboot/Freeze Try These Fixes Part 2 for Laptop Users
If you have a gaming system, you may have two graphic cards. You can see it in the device manager under display adapter. Usually, one is an adapter that is part of the CPU, and the other is a high-end gaming adapter. Windows will default to the CPU adapter to save battery life, even when your system is plugged in. You need to set your web browser to use the better adapter manually. Right-click on your desktop, select display settings, then graphics, under add an app, select browse. For Chrome, look in c:/Program Files/Google/Chrome/Applications and select chrome.exe. Once you have added it, select it, and click options, and select High Performance. If you have the 32-bit version of Windows and Chrome, you will need to find it in Program Files (x86).
In the control panel for your gaming card, i.e., nVidia, manage 3D settings, and select high performance nVidia processor and under adjust image settings, slide the preference all the way to performance.
One last tip, some gaming adapters like nVidia have addons, like Physx. These extensions provide realistic collisions, something unused in VW. Go to programs and features and uninstall these types of addons, which will cost you 10-25% in frame rate. These will not eliminate the problems but should reduce them and improve your VW experience.
